What do you get when you put hundreds of feminists together in a (digital) room? Empowerment, support, ideas, and passion are some words that come to mind. A fire doesn’t just start on its own, it takes some energy to get it burning. Some of the best ideas come from sharing and engaging with a group.
It’s almost 2am here in Taiwan and I just finished speaking for the Women’s Human Rights Campaign special webinar, Feminist Question Time. I can’t sleep, I’m pacing my apartment with my two cats looking at me with bewildered expressions (as much cats can look bewildered), wondering why I’m not in bed. This was an amazing experience, to be given a platform to speak about gender identity legislation in Taiwan (see my article originally published in Feminist Current), to be shown such overwhelming support by hundreds of women around the globe, and to share the “stage” with women I greatly admire and an organization that is doing such amazing work. (Richard Dawkins just came out publicly in support their Declaration on Women’s Sex Based Rights!) It’s 2am, but I feel the fire ignited in me to act, to do more, to be a better version of myself that strives to improve the lives of women and girls.

The full video of the webinar is now posted on YouTube, and you can see it here:
